About Me and the Lab

So who am I, and what is this "The One Lab" website all about, anyway? Well, both answers are complex and lengthy, but I'll give it my best shot.

About Me

My name is June Tate-Gans, and I'm a technologically inclined Arizonan woman with a penchant for writing music, sketching, coding, cooking, crazy ideas and generally just having fun learning and exploring the world around me. My personality ranges from being overly optimistic to hopelessly romantic, which can often lead me on flights of fancy — in fact, one of my over-arching goals in life is to travel around the world to experience everything I haven't yet before.

I usually idle as texel in #emacs and #tsumufs on freenode.

I also have a GPG public key, which I will be placing here eventually.

About the Lab

"The One Lab" was born from an older website and server called Tank (named after the matrix character, and which also has a little brother, Dozer, which resides with a very close friend of mine) that I used to use an experiment for sharing our limited internet connection with at home. As time progressed, Tank grew and evolved into a fairly overloaded collection of scripts, services, and data, and gradually outgrew its meager hardware at the time (originally a Pentium 90).

Since its humble and difficult beginnings, Tank has managed to follow me through my own troubles and grow with me as I have grown. Since it originally started out as an experiment and will likely always be a proving ground for new technologies, I often referred to it as my "laboratory" of sorts, which eventually spawned the name, "The One Lab".
